Although many Arab
women are highly educated there is a percentage of Arab
women who are illiterate, and many others have no direct
access to the Internet. Therefore, books, magazines, and
the Internet are empty avenues for them.
To overcome these barriers, and
also to provide the opportunity for all women to receive
God's Word in their own place, AWT Ministries broadcast
twice a week on Trans World Radio. "Woman Today"
is a 15-min radio program which is picked up by listeners
throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
The program is broadcasted using
the formal form of Modern Standard
Arabic, rather than a local colloquial form, so it can easily
and more effectively be understood by women all over the
Middle East and North Africa.
Social, spiritual, and psychological
topics are discussed on the program in various formats,
and built around themes relevant to the daily lives and
needs of Arab women.
Often professionals in various
fields are interviewed, experiences taken from real life
are shared, and always a Christian view of the topic is
presented.
